Moments for Mamas: Honoring the Journey: Grief, Growth, and Motherhood w/ Nic Burnette, MSW, LISW-CP

Sunday, September 27, 2026 | 5:00 PM EST / 3:00 PM MST

Within our Monochromatic Mommies community, many mothers have shared a common experience—grief.

It's the grief that isn't always recognized.

It's grieving the expectations we once held. The milestones that unfolded differently. Friendships that changed. The routines we had to leave behind. The career paths we paused. The relationships that shifted. Even the parts of ourselves we feel we've lost while learning to navigate motherhood and the special needs journey.

This kind of grief is real.

During our September Moments for Mamas gathering, licensed clinical social worker Nic Burnette, MSW, LISW-CP, founder of Destination Fortified Counseling & Wellness, will guide us through an honest and compassionate conversation about living grief. Together, we'll explore how grief can exist alongside gratitude, hope, fierce love, and resilience—and how acknowledging these emotions is an important part of healing.

Whether you've struggled to put words to what you're feeling or simply long for a space where you don't have to explain yourself, this conversation is for you.

Together we'll explore:

  • Understanding grief beyond death and traditional loss

  • Processing changing expectations and life transitions

  • Navigating identity shifts in motherhood and caregiving

  • Making space for difficult emotions without shame or guilt

  • Practical tools for resilience, healing, and self-compassion
