When you’re caring for a child with different abilites and needs, so much attention naturally goes toward your child’s needs—but who is caring for the caregiver?
Join Monochromatic Mommies for an October Community Conversation with Deshombre Samuels, Founder of The Neuromargin Project and owner of The Virtual Experience, for a conversation centered on caregiver well-being, support, and the realities of raising an autistic child while trying not to lose yourself in the process.
Drawing from her professional experience, entrepreneurship, and lived experience as an Autism Mom, Deshombre will help us explore why caregiver well-being deserves intentional attention—not just when we reach burnout, but as an essential part of supporting the entire family.
This conversation will create space to talk honestly about the needs caregivers carry, the importance of community and practical support, and what it can look like to make room for your own well-being while continuing to care deeply for your child.
This is a space to learn, connect, reflect, and be reminded that your well-being matters, too.
All About Deshombre
Deshombre Samuels is the Founder of The Neuromargin Project and owner of The Virtual Experience. Her work is rooted in professional experience, entrepreneurship, and her lived experience as an Autism Mom.
Through her own journey, Deshombre recognized how often caregivers’ needs become secondary while families focus on supporting their autistic children. That realization became the foundation for The Neuromargin Project, a South Carolina nonprofit focused specifically on caregivers of autistic children.
Her vision is a future where every caregiver of an autistic child has access to the support, resources, and community needed to sustain their own well-being. Through both The Virtual Experience and The Neuromargin Project, she is committed to turning identified needs into meaningful resources, opportunities, and experiences that make a difference.
